What In The World Is A Chupacabra?

The Chupacabra is mostly associated with Puerto Rico, where it was first reported in about 1987, Mexico and Latin American communities of the United States. Eyewitness sightings have been documented as far back as 1990, and with a wide range from Maine, United States and as far south as Chile, South America, and even thought to have been seen in Russia.

Over the past 2 decades, livestock and pets have been killed inexplicably. Not eaten, or carried off, but drained of their blood. Of course, legend tells them that this could be the mythical chupacabra, literally translated from the Spanish as “goat sucker”.

From legend, the chupacabra preys upon livestock and pets, and drinks their blood. Animals reported have been chickens, goats, horses, sheep, pets, and birds, just to name a few. In most incidences, the livestock was exsanguinated, sometimes organs were also extracted, through 1 or 2 holes.

It is said that it is the size of a small bear, looks like a heavy creature, and has a spines or quills from the nape of the neck down to the base of the tail, and is hairless or has very sparse hair with scaly, leathery skin that is bluish-greenish-gray in color. It has large fangs and huge claws. They have been reported to even be between 3-4 ft high, and hop around like a kangaroo, witnessed leaping as far as 20 ft in one jump. When alarmed, they screech and hiss, and leave a foul smell behind.

Basically, it seems to be a combination between 3 different animals: canine, rodent and lizard.

Contrary to how canine species’ eyes glow blue when light is shone on them at night, the chupacabra’s eyes have been reported to glow red.

Scientists that are considered “mainstream” believe this creature only to be a myth or urban legend. Some of these creatures that have turned up in traps, or on the side of the road have been tested, and either identified as being a strange and unidentified breed of dog with demodectic or sarcoptic mange or simply, an unknown species of animal.

Classification

Grouping: Cryptid or Extraterrestrial???

Is it explicable with knowledge of known species, or is it really an urban legend true? You decide.

"Multitudes at the Crossroads" author F.J. Colberg: Book Review

F. J. Colberg is a professional counselor and educator. Mr. Colberg is married, has three grown children, and lives in Puerto Rico. He has written “Multitudes at the Crossroads” as a result of his deep involvement with church ministry.

Nostradamus step aside, F.J. Colberg has arrived. Powerful and believable is the way to describe “Multitudes at the Crossroads”. In these 221 pages, Mr. Colberg cautions us to look to the past for answers about the future. He begins with an explanation about Cycles and their affect on modern times. How history does and will repeat itself is one of his major points.

In “Multitudes at the Crossroads” Mr. Colberg explains the Elliot Wave and how it reflects social moods. In one chapter, he discusses the Roman Empire and how those people never dreamed of world domination. The original settlers just wanted a nice place to live and prosper. Then, as time went on, that’s when the problems started.
Page by page, chapter by chapter, Mr. Colberg explains in very much historical detail how the past is coming back to haunt us. He talks about our Economy and The Politics of Oil, the race among the superpowers for the oil reserves, and in-depth coverage of what is going on in these nations, Mr. Colberg makes you aware of future implications of present day actions.

In Part II of “Multitudes at the Crossroads,” Mr. Colberg brings it all together. He shows how the Biblical teachings and Prophesy coincide with what is happening in today’s world such as Israel becoming a souvergn country and the exodus of the Jews. He also shows how we are ruining the planet by destroying all of Nature but how the Bible gives us hope. Hope in the form of a cleansing that will bring forth earthquakes, famines and pestilence in various places. Then he goes on to tell of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Deceit on the white horse, War on the red, Hunger on the black one and on the pale horse rode Death. After this, it is written, there will be a new heaven, a new earth, the new Jerusalem. In the concluding pages, Mr. Colberg drives his point home with these words: A category 10 hurricane is upon us, the wind blowing from all sides and the seas confused. Your only safe harbor is Jesus Christ. Find a church; discover a whole new life in and with your creator. Or prepare for the worst, eternity awaits us all.

“Multitudes at the Crossroads” was a very direct, no nonsense look at what the Bible says and what is happening around the world. Colberg hit the nail on the head with this compelling and scary write. Yes, scary even to a believer and good Christian.

From the start I could not put it down; “Multitudes at the Crossroads” has all the excitement of the Davinci Code and the Quatrains rolled into one. I give it my highest rating of A+.

Mirthala Salinas – Who Is She?

If you scan the news on the Internet like I do, you might have seen the name “Mirthala Salinas” come up. I saw the name, but had no idea who she was, or what made her significant. So I dug deeper. Turns out, Mirthala Salinas is a television anchor for the American television network, Telemundo. Telemundo was founded in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Angel Ramos in the year 1954, but is now US based in Hialeah, FL.. It is known to be the second-largest Spanish language network in the US, right behind Univision. It is said to reach 93 percent of U.S. Hispanic households in 142 markets via over-the-air, cable and satellite TV.

Telemundo is also the only Spanish-language television network that produces telenovelas in the United States at the current time. Many of its programs air with closed captions in both Spanish and English. Its owner, Telemundo Communications Group, is affiliated with the NBC Universal division of General Electric.

Mirthala Salinas, however, made her mark in current days because the news of her affair with Los Angeles mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa has come to light. In a statement issued Tuesday, Villaraigosa admitted to his affair, or “relationship”, as he calls it, with the television anchor.

“It is true that I have a relationship with Ms. Mirthala Salinas,” Villaraigosa said in a statement published in the Los Angeles Daily News. “As I’ve said I take full responsibility for my actions, and I once again ask that people respect my family’s privacy. For my part, I intend to stay focused on my job, and to work as hard as I can every day to be the best mayor I can be.”

It has been reported that the mayor was a visitor at the townhouse of Mirthala Salinas — bottle of wine in hand — four months after he took office in 2005. Photographer Robert Durrell published photos of Villaraigosa and Salinas together in Sacramento at about the same time. Reports also mention trips where Salinas went along and covered the mayor. There are also news snippets on how Villaraigosa helped Salinas last year when her mother was sick with cancer at Cedars-Sinai. Villaraigosa attended the funeral when Salinas’ mother passed away. Salinas has this to say:

“I first got to know the mayor at a professional level where we went on to become friends,” she said. “The current relationship grew out of our existing friendship.”

Salinas said that while she and the mayor “are both public figures, I hope that everyone can understand and respect my desire to maintain my privacy when it comes to personal relationships.”

Reporter Eric Longabardi of ERS News.com has evidence that before Mirthala Salinas became involved with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, she was the girlfriend of his close friend and ally, Speaker Fabian N??ez. Quoting Longabardi:

“Assembly Speaker, Fabio Nunez, one of Villaraigosa’s best friends, also had a relationship with Salinas from the summer of 2003 until after his swearing in as Assembly Speaker in February 2004. The Speaker’s office confirmed to ERSNews.com that while the Speaker was divorced from his wife Maria (they have since remarried), Nunez and Salinas had a romantic relationship. Salinas attended Nunez’s swearing in as Speaker of the Assembly. Sources also tell ERSNews.com that Salinas would regularly fly to Sacramento to see the Speaker. One insider at Telemundo said that ‘everybody in the newsroom knew all about it and management did nothing about it.’”

Villaraigosa and his wife Corina, stopped making public appearances together last January. When asked why he no longer wore his wedding ring, at that time the mayor laughed and said he had simply been working out and losing weight, and the ring was at the jeweler’s getting resized. Villagaigosa has since admitted that he and his wife are separated and are seeking a divorce. Salinas moved off the political beat about 11 months ago.
